For those of you who don't know, Oyster Run is a huge motorcycle gathering in Anacortes. Bikers from all over Washington and Canada (and some even further than that) cruise to Anacortes every year during the last weekend of September. And Deb and Eric happen to live on one of the main rural routes to Anacortes. The main event day is on Sunday, when the huge numbers of bikers drive by. So we line up the lawn chairs, pull out the mannequin heads with helmets, grab our beers and wave to them all.
Yes, we wave to them ALL.
Most of them wave back. Some honk. Some rev their motors up. And some even do wheelies for us. One guy even did some other tricks like stand on his seat and turn around.
Some get flashed, too. But not too many this year. I was sick with a crappy cold/flu this year so I wasn't up for it. Besides, one of my flashing buddies wasn't there this year, either.
We were so rowdy that the cops even showed up (well, they seem to show up at all of our events).
My nephew Tyson and I did some fishing, too. We fished the pond behind Deb and Eric's property (Tye caught at least 10 fish) and we went down on the North Fork of the Skagit River to try at some salmon. We didn't catch any salmon, but Tye caught a sucker fish (that's the photo on the bottom).
