My first 5K

Deb (my most-mature sister) and I are running (jogging, walking, crawling) our first 5K this Saturday. It's the Deputy Anne Jackson Memorial Run put on by the Skagit Humane Society. They also have a 10K and a 2 mile walk (which you can bring your dog on), but we decided to go all out and signed up for the "middle" one.
As long as it's not hot out, I'll be fine. And I dropped almost 10 pounds in a week so I should be a little lighter in my stride.
Why? Especially after I told my sister Mary how crazy her and Steph were for doing the 10K (I think) in Chelan, and some half marathon in Seattle.
Why? It's for a good cause. It gives me something to do besides sleeping in on a much-needed Saturday morning. It will build character. It gives me some "sister-time" with Deb.

The real reason why? 'Cuz I get a t-shirt.

Oh my god. You all are going to have to stop running. First it was Anne. Then my friend Jen. Then Mike. Now you. Seriously, girl. Next thing you know, the entire Coocoochin clan will be flaunting cool 5K t-shirts! Please tell me *someone* is not hiding latent running tendencies!

Have a great run. : )
