New bed
Since after Christmas, Jeremie has pretty much been sleeping in the theatre room (he hurt his back). Every time he tried to sleep in our bed, he'd be in so much pain. And my back has been worse. With Jeremie not sleeping in our bed, I've been sleeping in the small strip in the middle that is still firm. Let me take you back a little: seven years ago when we bought this house, we bought the Costco version of the Tempurpedic. It was $600 for a queen, and we loved it...for the first four years. It's not the same material as the Tempurpedic so it apparently breaks down and loses its recovery ability.
We are broke. For those who read this who may not know, we has to file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy three years ago. So we haven't been able to save any money. And with no credit cards, it's been a difficult three years. But we were able to keep the house as long as we still can make the payment. Same with our car. We chose to keep the house because we would never be able to qualify for a loan at 4.75% again.
We managed to save up some money for a bed. But we didn't want a spring mattress since Jeremie is a bouncer when he rolls over, and it would wake me every time. We've actually been wanting a Sleep Number bed but the one we want is $2800+. And there is no way we'd be able to afford it. So yesterday we decided to just go LOOK at Tempurpedic beds. I told Jeremie that we can't lay in one or else we'll be hooked.
That's exactly what happened. Still, the bed we got is the Contour. It's one of the firmest. We dropped $1800 on a mattress yesterday. At least they delivered it a couple hours later. But these beds have to off-gas for a long time so it smells like a print shop. We slept on it last night. I warned Jeremie that it may take a few days to get used to the new bed. Well, I had a hard time sleeping. Mostly because I've been sleeping by myself for 5 months. That and he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. And he snores. If I'm asleep first, his snoring doesn't wake me.
My back hurts pretty bad this morning. I really hope I get used to that expensive bed soon. Jeremie's back, you ask? Well, it's almost 10 a.m. and he's still sleeping. I think his back feels just fine.

Hot tub adventure
Friday night, Jeremie and I got into the hot tub thinking we'd get to see the Lyrid meteor shower. We never saw the shower but did see a racoon.
There is a big cedar tree 20 feet from our hot tub. It's about 80 feet tall. We had the jets turned off which we never do. So we heard some scratching up the tree. Jeremie grabbed the flashlight and aimed it up the tree. We saw glowing eyeballs. And we saw branches swaying. I said it was a gust of wind. But I knew what it was. We watched the critter move up through the tree, only by seeing the branches move, and seeing his glowing eyes.
After awhile, the critter got annoyed with us shining a bright light at him. He decided to quickly descend. That was our cue to quickly leave the hot tub.

fishing injury
I always thought that if I got hurt fishing, it would be a hook imbedded in my finger, or falling into the water due to the fish being SO big it pulls me over.
I never thought seeing the tip of my rod wiggle with a bite would be the beginning of the end.
I was in a squatted position, saw the rod move, and moved into action. Only my leg decided to stay put while my hip and company were headed the other direction.
This happened Saturday evening. Yes, I did come home with two salmon. But in loads of pain. I couldn't get myself in or out of bed, or even in or out of a seated position. Sunday was an emergency trip to my chiropractor. He said I thee out my sacroilliac joint on the left side (which is my good side since I hurt my right side 6 years ago, that still causes me problems). It's now Tuesday evening. I still can't bend over to put my socks on. Tomorrow will be another missed day of work.
The good thing is that we got the hot tub installed and I have been in it twice a day since. It helps, but the relief is short lived.
This really messes with my fishing plans.

Snoring in the night
If Jeremie and I go to bed at the same time, I don't get any sleep because he is a light snorer. But we rarely ever go to bed at the same time so its not normally an issue. However, it is a problem when Kasha comes to bed with me. She snores. Yes, its cute. But she's kinda loud (she sleeps practically on my shoulder, right at my ear). I feel bad for "elbow-nudging" her, but I still do it. She's 17. Maybe I should give her some slack.

strawberry thief
Some critter has been stealing our strawberries as they rippen. Not sure how to keep the unknown critter out.

:(
I am very sad.
I found out this weekend that two very dear friends have broken up. As we all know, things like this happen whether anyone wants them to or not. And the parties involved have a great deal to sort through, and I am certain that they, too, are very sad.
Not only that, but a dear friend has also put her Blogging on hold. Now, I'm not really one to speak since I can't seem to blog very much myself (I blame Facebook). But I looked forward to seeing their adventures, great and small. I didn't comment hardly at all, but I still would check out the exciting blog posts.
I know my sadness will end, but it still sucks.

Guilty as charged
So as I am sitting here in Issaquah at Anne and Kevin's place, I am being harassed for not blogging.
Guilty.
Judy and Lloyd and Mike, as well as Anne, said I need to blog. Kathy has also said I need to update my blog. And Stacey emailed me making sure I knew that my last blog was in September.
So here I am. Blogging.
