No, I'm not sick.
My politically-verbal 11 year-old niece was over last night.
And, no, we didn't really talk politics (even though it did come up a couple times).
We had an awesome night! It started with me picking her up from school with a cookie dough Blizzard waiting for her. We watched a movie (Big Business with Bette Midler and Lily Tomlin), had some dinner (Chicken burgers and mini tater tots), and played video games. She's a big fan of the cow-riding game on the Wii where you knock over scarecrows and jump hurdles (Kathy also likes that game).
But that's not where the sore throat comes in. We hooked up the PS2 and played Singstar. Singstar is like Karaoke, except you are singing along with the artist or group and the original video to the song is playing. Oh, and you get scored on how good (or bad) you hit the notes. Not only do we have the 80's version, but we have also purchased the 90's version, too. Miriah and I sang Wilson Phillips' song "Hold On" about a million times. And then we played it back so we could see how awful we sounded.
We played Singstar for over 2 hours.
My throat is quite sore.
But it was so much fun!

You must be the coolest aunt. Don't tell Trey, Andrew, and Maddie. They will raise their expectations of me!
Did you come up with a name for your band? How about Gorterson or Petoeres?
How about Variah? Or Miralerie? You definitely need to come up with a name!
