What ARE those?

My dad is so creative with "crap". Not the literal crap, but crap around the house. He made some of "these" things. I asked him what he calls them and said, "I don't know. What do you think I should call them?"
So I ask my audience. What would you call these?

I wasn't sure what they were either, but Conrad liked them. Maybe we could call them the popular crowd.....(cause they are made from poplar trees)?

Never mind my thoughts. I think these are made from birch trees and not poplar trees....
