Crab-fest '08

Wow!
We had an awesome time out crabbing the last few days. Our friend Heather flew all the way out here from Denver just to go crabbing with us. How cool is that?!
We went out last night for 2 1/2 hours and came back with 3 Dungeness and 2 Red Rock crab. By the time the boat was rinsed and the crab were cooked, it was almost midnight when we got to enjoy our catch.
Our goal was to drop three pots over night and get a good 12 hour soak before pulling them in. But we "lost" a pot. We looked for it for quite a while, but decided to just move on and cut our loss.
And it was back on the water bright and early this morning. Boy, were Heather and Jeremie not very happy about getting up at 7! (Actually, they were pretty good sports about it.)
We pulled our two pots and ended up getting 14 keepers between the two (9 in one pot)! We are allowed 5 each, so there was only one more to go. We dropped the two pots again and decided to take Heather on a little tour of some of the close by islands. She was awestruck!
Heather isn't quite used to the roughness of a boat ride with us. But she survived with only having to take a few pain killers.
We ended up finding our "lost" pot when we got back to the crabbing grounds (thank goodness because it was our most expensive pot).
We were joined later on Saturday by Mike, J.B., Judy, Lloyd and the rugrats! Anne and Kevin will soon join us, but there may not be any crab left for them.
We are, however, missing one person from our group. Kathy, we miss you and wish you were here!
